Race pick
So you got everything sorted, time to start playing !!
The first thing you will need to do is pick a race and with that a fraction.
we have two fractions in WOW : -Alliance
-Horde
Usually when people start to play they just pick the fraction their friends are playin in, since its much more fun to play in a group than alone, so there's probably not much point in suggestin a specific one =)
next pick you will need to do is a race/class pick
some sacrifice will have to be made here, since all classes are not compatible with all races and vice versa.
at the begining, it probably doesnt matter much what race you do pick, but later on in the game when you create more characters, you can get that extra little statistic boost from combining the right class with the right proffesion(example: A dwarf would be a good hunter, since his crit hit with guns increses by 1%(racial passive))
Class:
for your class pick you have three basic ˝jobs˝ in WOW
you an eather be a healer, a tank or a dps(damage per second)
tanks are the ones pulling all the mobs on them and taking the most damage
they have massive health, massive armor and produce the most aggro
healers obviously heal the tank and other group members,
why dps nuke the shit out of the targets =)
A paladin is a very advisable beginner tank, since he can hold aggro easily and also has some self healing spells you can use in an emergency.
controversially a paladin is also the most advisable healer at the moment.
he produces very strong heals with burning little mana.
he also has plate armor after lvl 40, so you will take less damage and survive longer
for a dps i would recomend a ranged dps for a beginner. they deal better damaged and are a long distance away from the tank, so if they over aggro and pull the mob/boss. the tank still has enough time to taunt it back.
at the moment hunter is a very strong class, though mages are also recomendable
if you preffer mele damage anyway, a rogue or a warrior both do solid beginner damage, both pvp(player versus player) and pve(player versus environment)
a death knight(DK) also deals a lot of damage, but you need a lvl 55 character to unlock that class + it appears in the 2nd expansion (Wrath of the lich king)
!!REMEMBER!! you can be imba with any class if you master it. some classes are just easyer to master=)

With the game data downloaded and instaled, the only thing you need more is to make a payable account, on the site posted above >> battle.net
it costs roughly 15 eur per month for the european region.
now, if you are a total beginner or ˝noob ˝ =) I would recomend buying the game part by part, not all extensions at once, becouse there is some serious landscape change in the now latest pack Cataclysm.
