---------- SPELLS ----------
Passive - Tailwind: Increases the movement speed of all alied champions. A decent passive that makes Janna one of the fastest champions in the league, and combined with her other spells this makes her nearly ungankable.
Q - Howling Gale: A channeling tornado spell with a knockup. The longer she channels the spell the more dmg it makes. A very versetile spell usefull in offense and defense. I max Howling Gale last becouse i play janna as a support and the knockup is the most usefull thing about this spell and it doesn't get better at higher ranks. And also leveling makes it cost more mana.
W - Zephyr: A single target dmg spell with a slow. When it is not on cool down it also increases Jannas movement speed. This spell combined with her passive makes her a great kiter and nearly uncatchable. I max Zephyr 2nd becouse the slow gets stronger with ranks.
E - Eye of the storm: Shields a target ally and increase his attack damage. This is the spell that makes her in my opinion the best support champion in the game. It not just shields your ad carry friend but also boosts his attack damage stat. I max Eye Of The Storm 1st. At rank 5 this spell is the equivalent of a BF Sword for your carry.
R - Monsoon: An channeling AoE knockback that heals allied units inside its range. This spell has everything you can ask for in a support role ultimate. It can be used in so many ways my brain cant even comprihend it. I will try to list a few:
- Team is in trouble and about to die? NOPE knock those pesky enemys away and heal the team up.
- Your team wants to push but is low on hp? NOPE not anymore it isn't.
- That Morgana wants to ult your whole team? NOPE be gone.
- the enemy is anoying and wants to make you tower hug? Nope flash over him and make him hug your tower.
---------- Summoner spells ----------
I always take Clairvoyance and Flash. Clairvoyance is essential on a support champion and Flash is just to good to be skipped. If you are having mana problems in lane you may change one of them for Clarity but that shouldn't happen, but if it does keep happening i advise you to rather change your runepage or masteries or starter item.
---------- Runes ----------

Magic penetration reds
Mana regen/5 yellows
Ability power/5 blues
Movement speed quints
This is my standart runepage for support champions. It works quite well with Janna. I have been thinking about changing ms quints for gold per 5 becouse janna is allready very fast. The gold per 5 ones would give her +3 gold per 10sec and combined with her masteries +5 gold per 10sec.
---------- Masteries ----------

Improoved wards, movement speed, cooldown reduction, flash and clairvoyance, mana, mana regen, xp, armor and magic resisrance. Quite the normal support setup also used on most my supports.
---------- Item build ----------
I usualy start with a ferie charm, 3 wards and 2 mana pots. But it depends on my lanemate and the enemy setup. Sometimes i go 2 ferie charms and a ward or when my lanemate has mana probles i take mana manipulator.
On my first trip back to the base i make sure i have enough for a philosopher's stone. And then depending on the remaining gold i take level 1 boots, wards or amplifying tome.
My goal as janna is to disrupt the enemy team with my cc, save my team with my cc, give them some auras and ward the hell out of the map. That is why i take no major ability power items.
After i upgrade my amplifying tome to kage's lucky pick for some more gp5, I upgrade my lvl 1 boots to Ionian Boots of Lucidity.
Then i proceed to upgrading my Mana Manipulator into Soul Shroud. When that is done i decide depending on how the game is going wether to bild a Aegis of the Legion or not.
if i took the Aegis i have 1 item spot left for ward and if not even 2. I buy a Oracle's Elixir and ward up all the time to keep vision of the map. If the game is realy long and have a lot of gold i sometimes upgrade Philosopher's stone to Shurelya's Reverie or Eleisa's Miracle.
An example of my late game item build.

---------- Gameplay ----------
Early game: Always take botom lane with an ad carry. Help him last his and shield him when he is about to take dmg. If they have also have a support and ad carry bot combo and their support has sustain in a form of healing (let's say soraka), it is wise for your carry to get cloth armor and 5 mana pots. Coordinate your atacks with your jungler otherwise just play passive and help your carry farm. Ward the brush at river and the lane brushes if needed.
Mid game: There should be some towers fallen and you have some gp5 items and wards. Ward river so you have vision of dragon. If your team is doing well also ward their blue and red to set up potential ganks, but if your team is doing bad and is loosing towers ward your buffs for the same reason. Otherwise your job is just to be there when some teamfights happen and save your teammates. You are not a carry, don't run around alone. You are not a tank, don't initiate teamfights. You are a support, so support your team in as much ways as possible.
Late game: Ward, Ward, Ward. And be with your team. Running around alone or split looses the game. No vision on the map gets you ganked and you loose the game. Make that imposible with your warding and clairvoyance.

This is my way of playing janna. Please comment and give your opinion. Sorry for the bad grammar :)
